Build one continuous session
Open Pinar, click an element or drag a freeform area, write the comment, and press Enter. The first pin starts a session. Each pin captures its own screenshot immediately, and you can navigate to other pages without finishing.
- Pin numbering continues across every page in the same session.
Shift+Enteradds a line break.Escapecloses a draft, or hides the toolbar when no draft is open.- After being hidden, the toolbar stays hidden across navigation until you invoke the extension action or shortcut again.
Review before finishing
Press Tab to replace the toolbar with session review. Edit comments, inspect the selected element or region, page title, DOM path, and thumbnail, or remove a pin with the X control. Press Tab again to return to capture mode.
- Session review restores the normal page cursor and never receives focus just because you pressed
Tab. - Inside a comment editor,
Tabkeeps normal keyboard navigation.
Finish or cancel the session
Use Command+Enter on macOS or Alt+Enter on Windows and Linux, or the Finish session button, to finish the complete session. What is copied follows the On finish setting: Prompt copies the session handoff text, Link copies only the session link, and Off finishes without copying. Pinar visibly confirms success. If finishing fails, it shows an actionable error and keeps the session available for review and retry. Discard session cancels it without copying. With Pinar Cloud the link is private: it opens only with authenticated access (API key or MCP) or when you share it explicitly.
Treat the clipboard payload as one unit: readable instructions, an optional viewer URL, and one fenced pinar-visual-context block per page. Each block carries its own screenshot plus captureId, pinId, page URL, and locators (cssSelector, domPath, innerText). Numbered badges are annotation overlays, not page UI. Do not rewrite captureId or pinId when pasting to an agent.
- A session with no saved pins cannot finish.
- Local and cloud storage use the same continuous-session behavior.
- Keep the local Pinar app running when using local storage so screenshots and the viewer remain available.
